He has released over 25 albums and has been nominated for five Grammy Awards. Rush was born in Homer, Louisiana, and grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He began his career in the 1950s, playing in local bands in the Arkansas Delta. He moved to Chicago in the 1960s and released his first single, "Chicken Heads", in 1969. The song became a hit and was later covered by the likes of Otis Redding and the Blues Brothers. Throughout his career, Rush has released a number of albums, including "Rush Hour" (1972), "Folk Funk" (1975), "Raw" (1977), and "Down in Louisiana" (1980). He has also collaborated with a number of artists, including Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, and Eric Clapton.
